New BMW online parts fiche service

Just spotted this one the San Jose BMW website. Moto Marin has it too. Works better in Internet Explorer for whatever reason (Firefox doesn't work with it on mine). Must be some sort of generic new parts ordering thing being set up by BMW for maybe all the dealers?

First introduced in the July newsletter from BMW.

Works well. Tells you if parts are updates, if they are interchangeable, and if they are to be used with other new parts. approx shipping weight, etc.

The only issue I have with it is it doesn't have the special BMW tools on it. For those, you have to go to Maxbmwmotorcycles or chicagobmwmotorcycles.

'06 K1200R- in pieces
'73 Honda CB500F- slow but fun.
'77 Yamaha XS 750 triple- kinda

I'm curious about this update thing, I have been looking at the famous clutch O-ring and did not see "updates" in there, or prices, there a secret to make them show up? I have been getting conflicting info about a possible update from BMW on the famous O-ring to Viton, but so far no success finding out for sure.No biggie, by the time I need to do the O-ring again I will be ready for a clutch....!

But this to that link, I missed it amongst all them other searches...will come in handy!

They are also still using the old diagram for the tranny, only shows the input side, does not make it easy to get part no. for the seals, and still cryptic as to which one is which....but I can work around that I think by crossreferencing with other sites such as Max's.

And FYI, by the time I get to the part fiche I have 4 windows opened in my browser.....maybe why it does not work so good with others than IE....
