replacement oxygen sensor

Does anyone know of an aftermarket oxygen sensor that fits the '03 year K bikes?

Bosch Universal O2 Sensor, 15727, but you will have to retain the OEM connector and splice the Bosch in there. Probably around $60-70.00.Easy!

Very easy but don't solder the wires for the splice.

Neatest job is to use the smallest wire connector crimps (red here), heatshrink sleeve the individual wires then heatshrink the bundle.

The Bosch 'kit' comes with a pretty bulky and ugly splice system which I never used.

Went looking a bit......$40.72 on Amazon, and free shipping! Cheaper than some "Used" OEMs I have seen on Fleabay!

I've also seen quite a few posts where they were soldered, cars and bikes, so here is the "Why" they shouldn't be....!

{Use wire crimps or Posi-Lock. All the latest BOSCH O2 sensors are air tight. But the O2 sensor must have a clean air supply to work. It breaths down the center of the multi-stranded wire(s). Solder and solder flux will close the air-gaps between the strands of wire and the O2 sensor may malfunction.}

Well you can if you want to, but Bosch say that 'reference' air is supposed to get up the strands of the wire into the back of the sensor and if you close the stranded wire off with solder it won't. I seem to remember also that their wire may be silver plated which wets with solder very easily and runs back quickly. I'm not sure, but lead in solder if it leeches, may also be a slow poison death for Zirconium.

So I don't solder their wires since they use crimps and my small crimps with sleeve still makes a neat job compatible with their bulky universal wiring kit.
