heated grips - rubber splitting

Hi:

Have an 04 GT, left grip is splitting, BMW wants to replace the whole assembly at $100+. Anyone come accross a less expensive solution? Thanks!

The right grip on my 98 did the same thing. I bought a new
rubber cover, peeled off the old and installed right over the old
heating element. Cost me maybe $30.00 for the grip.

T'was a piece of cake.

I don't know if the newer models are different, but I doubt it.

Call Gene at Mathias BMW in New Philadelphia, Ohio (330) 308-8868

He should be able to ship you what you need.

I have to do this to my bike eventually, from what I can see,and remember from my K100RS, you will have to buy the RIGHT rubber grip for a bike without heated grips, it should fit right over the heated grip.Would be $10-12.00 instead of the "N/A" one for the heated grips or buying a whole new grip at $$$$$....!!!!
