Read out ABS II Fault Codes

Hello to all from Spain!!

I have a K1100RS with 112.000 kms and observe that I have failure in
the ABS. My ABS is version II.

Does anybody know how to tell me the failures of the ABS and
its numeration? (ABS II please, not ABS I)

I think that they are eight, but not it corresponds to each.

Thanks and sorry for my bad english.

Fault codes are read by BMW proprietary Moditec diagnostics. I don't think there are independent readers that work on our bikes. However there were some European talks about standardising the connector interface and code structure for all vehicles (OBDII), I'm not sure if bikes were included.

A failure in ABS2 can be a fault and probably best left to a dealer. Pay for 1/2 hour diagnostic check/clear spurious codes then decide what to do.

Thanks Flarenut. Lots of stuff for the K75. I know when I looked into the Motronics that our bikes have a later version without the simple pulse code readout option. In fact I think the earlier K's had the diags built in to pulse a fault lamp in the instrument housing after certain ignition switch sequences. I even got a set of fault codes for this older version but failed to get much further since experimenting around the diags connector with ground wires, resistors and no info could cause premature brain death and lots of $$$s. The ABS might be different so i'll try seeing if the various wires and connectors mentioned relate to a K1200.
