HELLO and some questions

Hello All,

introduction - bought a 2005 K1200S Yesterday - have ridden it a bit and what a bike- it is awsome in its aceleration and agility. never had a bike like this before and am impressed on with it overall. The brakes are like ships anchors , but still very controllable.

do have an issue with the gearbox? 1st , 2nd and 3rd are extremely "clunky" and I mean clunky. i have had older jap bikes so understand who the gearboxes work. what I did notice is that I "lost" the neutral light as well as 1st and 2nd gear indicator. I have since taken the roller switch off that is on the left side and cleaned up the connectors and turned the switch with the engine running and saw that all gears are possible to "get" as well as neutral on the dash culster read out - so I am thinking the problem is in the gearbox-
but it is not difficult to select the gears, but it does "smash" into first gear when slecting 1st from neutral when standing still.

what are the signs of the box going- or is this it?

thanks

HELLO and welcome KSMITH!

I think you would increase the possibility of more replies, if you post your question in the K1200S section.
