K75 Clutch

Had a slipping clitch on my 92 k75s
Thought the clutch was gone
Found a used disk, pressure plate, spring set online
Removed the trans and took out mine
Clutch disk same thickness as the one I bought
Found the adjustment screw below trans and thought that had to be the problem

Lightly sanded pressure plate etc to remove shine
Reassembled trans onto bike, after lightly lubing splines
Left muffler off and took bike up steep driveway ok
Finished assembly of muffler pegs etc
They tried test drive and clutch slipped so bad I could not move
noticed clutch lever attached to cable was hitting muffler
loosened muffler and it was a little better
Still no good
I think the plunger on the end of release rod must be out of wack
Any suggestions to help me not take it all apart again would be appreciated

HELP!

Check out this Chris Harris video for adjustment -> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gBW4D2jDw2A

As with all of his videos that I have watched, it's very informative and not recommended for anyone sensitive to cursing.
