Replacing battery

Other than unbolting the old and installing the new battery, is there anything I need to do? I seem to recall something about twisting the throttle 3 times.

Before unbolting the old battery, check there are TWO black wires on the negative ground terminal. make sure you put back TWO wires and do not leave one off!

Wrap some insulating tape around your wrench first, it is VERY easy to short the terminals in that confined space.

When removing, unbolt and lift the negative terminals first then positive. When putting back, put the positive on first then the TWO negative terminals.

TPS reset

You need to do a TPS reset. Simple. ign on-(not running), twist the throttle all the way open (WOT) and let it snap back- 3 x's. TPS is now reset

Thanks guys. I'm on my original battery, 7 years old but still working. I just want peace of mind now.
