Pre-01 fairing vs. 01+?

Does anyone know if a lower right side fairing for an older RS, part #46632351674 is the same/compatible with a '03 RS fairing, part #46637673942 ? Well, besides the color.

Basically, is the right side lower fairing the same on the KRS models? I've been trying to figure this out by looking at the fiches and other means and haven't had much luck yet with a definitve answer. Any help would be appreciated.

After rummaging through a pile of used fairing pieces a year ago, I'm 99% certain that the side panels are all the same.

I think that the only difference is the size of the screw hole up by the instruments. It's a little bigger on the 02 and later part to line the body screw because it goes through another piece of plastic first. I've used the later panels on an earlier bike and it wasn't a problem.

Yes, looking at the fiches again and some help from others, it does it look they are compatible. Thanks for the info.

Talking Actual confirmation!

In case anyone else ever has this same question -- I installed the early model RS fairing on my '03 today and it fit just fine. The fairings are in fact identical except for the one larger screw hole on the newer version (as mentioned earlier in this thread). The different-sized hole is the upper one next to the instrument cluster that is shared by the upper fairing inside panels. Even with the smaller hole, I didn't have any problem getting the fairing screw inserted, it just took a little patience to get the holes lined up.

Thanks for the input guys, she's one step closer to being happy and whole again.
