helmet repainting. is it worth it?

hi everyone,
I want to have a custom helmet. I purchased old one from the craigslist seller to train. I read some articles on this topic. It is recommended to take the automotive paint, but it is costly. What other paint can be used? Should I then make the finish coat? What to take for that?
Thanks for the idea.

Well, the first and the foremost part of this process is preparing the surface. Am I right? I will take the piece of sandpaper and any degreaser to do that. Anybody knows this paint? https://www.mrosupply.com/paint-pain...904000_krylon/ I have one can in the garage. I purchased it last year to repaint the door, but I didnít try. I want to buy the polyurithane finish to make the last coat.
