Grips on 2003 K1200GT

My grips are worn out, I ordered new grips from inner bags in Germany. Can I just cut them off as seen in Chris Harris YouTube video? Just hoping the wire's are not running through the grips. Can't tell?

2003 is the year they converted heated grip types for the K1200GT line. 203 and older types used a heating pad under the rubber grips. You can carefully peel back grip and see the heating pad below stuck to the sleeve. This type can be changed by putting new grips (unheated type) over the heat pads if you remove the old grips careful enough with a razor. There's a guy selling non-heated OEM grips on eBay from Germany who is very helpful. Late 2003 and on the grips heating pad is manufactured as part of the grips and the two can not be separated. In this case you have to purchase new grips with integrated heating pad feel the pain of the replacement procedure.
