Coolant Change

Any opinions as to the brand or mixture for coolant. My K12RS needs to be refreshed. The manual calls for 60/40. I can find auto mixtures at 50/50. Thoughts, comments? Thanks in advance.

you cant find non pre mix?.....just get the bmw coolent...for the amount that you would use wouldnt really be a great cost factor...sounds like you think that coolent is classifide like motor can buy it premixed at 50 50 and non premix whitch you have to mix yourself....

It probably doesn't have to have to be 60/40, unless you live in an area of extreme summer/winter temps.

I mix my own so I know what I'm getting and I don't like paying to have water shipped - it's environmentally unfriendly!

100% Ethylene Glycol with engine protection additives mixed 50/50 with de-ionised water, to which I add a dash of soluble oil. My brand says 50/50 is good for -34 deg C and prevents ice damage down to -50 deg C.

I'm not riding on the moon, so that should be good enough.
