K1200R Storage

Greetings,
Going on a small 3-week deployment on Saturday. Wondering if anyone thinks I need to do anything to the bike before putting it away. Will I need to pull the battery? Fuel stabilizer?
Thanks for helping out a rookie.

Three weeks , that aint nothin.

Now= When you get back I would:
Slow charge the batt. to full charge if needed.
check all fliuds

Put side stand down-Put bike in a gear- turn key on and push starter button, hold for five seconds, do this three times===it will not get any fuel so eng. will not start.

This will pump oil thru the engine.
Now put in neutral and start bike.

put on your bike ridding gear.

Go get new fuel.

Go for a LONG ride and SMILE.

Happy motoring

My bikes been at airports for 2 weeks at a stretch. As Bazra says, it ain't no time at all. My tender plugs into the accessory socket and I leave it on 24/7 if the bike's at home when I'm away. If you 'pull the battery' you'll be into resetting the clock and possibly the ECU thing -so I prefer leaving the battery on tender in the bike.

Make sure you leave the bike on the centre stand and well locked, and when you get back check the tire pressures first. Bikes have small air volumes in tires and the slightest rim leak can knock the pressures down after 3 weeks.

Howdy JD,

3 weeks...21 days.....t'ain't nothin!. You don't have to do a thing.
-Park it in a safe place, presumably your garage.
-When you get home, put on your gear, get on, fire it up and ride.

My K-R electrical draw has been extremely slow to discharge the battery while sitting. Now, my LT can't sit more than 4 days without the battery falling below start-up needs.

BillyOmaha:
The LT battery can only hold a charge for four days?
You have a bad battery or something is drawing down the Batt.

I would have the battery checked.

Best store it in my garage. I'll make sure the battery doesn't go flat nor the fuel go bad.
