Luggage Repair - Riveting?

The previous owner dropped my bike on its side which resulted in one of the luggage latches snapping off. I have the latch and it looks like it could be riveted back on. There's a camping gear repair place nearby that I thought I'd try. Wondering if you guys have any suggestions for repairing the stock BMW luggage latches on a 1992 K75s. Much appreciated.

I think there are at least 2 versions of moulding for the lock latch, I'll share what I know about the 'Touring cases'. The older version on my touring cases was rubbish. The plastic was so poor one of my lids flew open at 70mph. It took me a while to work out why the bike was steering strange. The locks and claw look as though they were designed for a battleship, unfortunately the application of the design to the ABS lid wasn't of the same standard. Before I got the new deep lids I fixed the old one's like in the photo by making a new bracket, (sorry about the poor photo quality). The stainless button screws are visible on the outside, but don't look out of place.

I bought new deep lids (not too Expensive) and they had a beefier moulding for the locking mechanism.
