Unhappy Fuel injection leak?

Saturday morning I wheeled my 98' (58,000 mi) into the driveway onto the sidestand and started it. I noticed a liquid draining from the bellypan onto the driveway. It was gasoline, about an ounce or two. The right side engine cover below the fuel injection rail was wet. The bike was also spewing heavy white smoke. I rode a couple miles to the gas station to fill up and everything cleared up.
It acted like a stuck float overflowing the carburator. (I know! There is no float or carburator!) Is there a cold start enrichenment device that could have stuck and overflowed?
I continued the trip to Kentucky and had a great two days riding the ridges with no other problems!
