Post Changing Quick Disconnects: Emptying Fuel Tank

Hi

Any pointers changing the QD's if the tank is nearly full?

I was one of those whose QD's failed, but no damage luckily since I was a block away from home.

QD's are in hand, clamps are in hand, so I wondered if I should empty the tank first before removing the QD's?

Thanks for any help.

If you don't have hose-pinching pliers, then you probably should.

...and on the outside chance that you live in a third world country that has banned hose-pinching pliers, vice grips with coins in the jaws will do.

Wouldn't that constitute illegal use of vise-grips-outside-the-U.S.?
