Kevin Ash likes another BMW - R1200R

This guy has typically been very harsh and critical of BMW in the past. But recently, with the K1200GT, F800S/ST, and now the R1200R, he's been pretty positive on BMW. He doesn't like the R1200S much, though.

Disclaimer: I have a part-time job in the same professional area as the guy we're talking about, so if you're generally biased against motojournos, skip this message altogether.

I always believed that birds of the same feather fly together. If you'd happen to know his italian connections/work relationships in the press world, you wouldn't trust a single world of what he says/writes on a principle basis. I've been the misfortune of having to work with some of those guys, too, for whom the only two really important parameters while evaluating a bike are: advertisement budget of that brand on your publication and expenses refund for your publication.

When you peel back the onion on just about anyones actions they are heavily influenced by greed or fear......life has its fundamentals and you can't ignore the power of these two forces to influence what someone says, writes or does......

I don't, but there's people that still spare some space for ethics. There's a difference between being a little kinder to the customers (because that's what M/C factories are to the specialized press, ultimately) with which you have a better relationship and blackmailing factories to get a decent review.

I can assure you that some people bent the truth beyond any conceivable limit when some factories' press agents complained about undeniable "favors" in group tests. NOTE: I don't know Kevin Ash and I'm not saying he does such things. I'm saying that his main italian associate did it, and still does it whenever he finds a financial supporter stupid enough to entrust him with the money needed to open up a new magazine, that regularly doesn't last more than a couple of issues...
