I really like the F800 line up, I think it's a great move and makes a lot more sense to me than the G series. Are they going to bring the F800GS here too? I'm digging on the idea of a F800GS Dakar or Adventure.

We talked to our dealer before our trip to Bali and agreed to pay for a F800ST ( Blue, of course)upon our return. The bike was sitting on the flow(had just arrived), we were in a rush before vacations, the season was over... And when we came to close the deal day before yesterday we were told that it had been sold :-(( WTF!
They have still another one but dark grey. So we are thinking: to take the grey one or to wait the spring for 2007 model? And if they do not receive new bikes for the spring? Decisions...

Take care!

Received Blue F800ST '07 for my wife. Heated grips, ABS, TPM, armoured line, aux socket, OEM alarm, pre-installed fixations for side bags, ajustable shock, white turn indicators. Have a Wilbers shock on order( shorter one - it allows to lower the bike by 1" and is factory set according to the pilot's spec). Looking for Xenon.
In spite of very early spring we plan the first ride for the second half of April.
So report will follow.

Take care!

My wife and I will look forward to reading your review. She's quite interested in the ST as well. How tall is your wife? Her inseam? It's interesting you plan on lowering the bike. I did not see the low seat option in your list?

Chris,

My wife is 165 cm and 29/30 inseam. The low seat option was tested at the dealer but she ( and me) did not find any difference, the seat is lower but due to different profile- more flat and wider- she touched the ground in the same way, on the toes. But we will have the chance to test it on the ride as our dealer promissed that. It reminds a lot the seat of F650CS and could turn out to be more comfortable on long hauls than the high one.
Would love to ride earlier but nobody has forseen so early spring and we are flying on diving tour tonight. So have to wait till mid-April.

My wife had a test ride last year and loved the bike. But the shock is the only mod she accepted so far. :-))

Take care!

Our wives are similarly sized.

Enjoy the dive trip!

Spring has sprung here. 6 C today. Rode the airhead to the office. Snow is gone.

I'll watch this thread for your further comments in the "spring".

BMW open houses here on the West Coast with plenty of the new 800's to ride. The only bad complaint I heard was the very very clunky transmission and it stalls at lights when idling.(teething problems) I spent 20 hours at the open house this last weekend and this Saturday I'll be doing another 10 hours working at another openhouse. Nice bike with ergo's that feel very comfortable. I liked the whole package. Women seemed to be buying them about 2 to 1 over men. The men were looking at the 1200's.

CalBMW here (well, in Mountain View) won't have a "demo" ST until first of May, the way they're selling. Ergo's are more to my liking than the F800.

Then someone mentioned a F800GS. Oy...gotta stop thinkin' about a second bike.
