Angry BMW of Salt Lake vs Big Twin in Boise

I had my bike in for it's 6000 mile service and also needed a new battery. When I went to pick up my bike in Salt Lake City (190 miles from my home) I was told it was not ready and would need to wait 3 more hours. I did not have the time to wait so picked up my K1200S and told them I would take it to Big Twin in Boise, Idaho since I was going there next week anyway.

In comparing prices, BMW of Salt Lake charges $200 for a 6000 mile service. The biannual brake flush is $300 and the 12,000 mile service is $650!

Big Twin charges $69 per hour plus parts. The 6k service was one hour, brake flush 2 hours and the 12k service was 3 hours.

Do the math, BMW of SLC charges more than twice what Big Twin charges. In addition, SLC screwed up their work 2 out of 2 times that they worked on my bike.

Question accolade=$$$$

Welcome to the club brotha! I have been bitch'n about the high cost of shoddy service work at that dealer for 2 years. Although this year, they are mak'n improvements on their work. You could take it to moto rxr in Midvale; 7200 s. and 5th w. I think. They bill @ $79.00 shop rate too. Fyi: had my brakes on my 04' k-bike done at Big Twin a year ago; 3/4 of an hour plus pads for less than $100.00 vs $225.00 at Accolade.
gggggggggggg

DON'T WAX'M; JUST RID'M!!

I have had the same experience. I think they believe they have a monopoly and can therefore charge through the roof.

Did you see the petition for Motorcycle R&R to become an authorized BMW dealer?
