Question Wunderlich clutch noise

Okay, I'm slowly working my way thru the 96 pages of threads, but hoping this post will save me some time. I own a 98 K1200RS which hauls a Hannigan sidecar. At 78,000 miles I replaced the clutch with a Wunderlich sintered oil-resistant clutch. When I got t back the "box of rocks" noise had been replaced with a knocking noise that sounds like a rod going. It takes a few seconds to start at cold start up and goes away once the clutch is engaged. I have no other clutch problems. As second owner I cannot be sure that the 34,000 mile cam chain check was done.

Also does the cam chain tensioner update apply to this model?
TIA,
Walt
