Plasti Dipped my Bumble Bee

I Plasti Dipped my Bumble Bee last week end, I am happy with the result given the fact that I will be able to peel it off for next season. To be honest with you, I missed my yellow as soon as I put the plastics back on.
This was my first experience taking off plastics, in the process I saw that I could have changed my OEM Air Filter while I was at it. I would still like to do it myself and save some $$$ and a trip to the dealership. I have seen some threads here with instructions on how to replace the air filter with the racing filter, I was wondering if someone could point me to the directions on how to change the air filter with the OEM BMW air filter?

Thanks for looking and looking out !

Peace !

Sak

Looks good, any peeling on the corners after riding at speed....then again I'm in MD too so you're probably not taking any long rides with this temp.

so does it come in any other colors. I've also heard of vinyl wrapping.

does it change the dimensions of the part to cause any fitment issues?

neat.

'73 Honda CB500F- slow but fun.
'77 Yamaha XS 750 triple- kinda

Yes, it comes in a variety of colours Have a look here https://www.dipyourcar.com/ . There's tons of videos on YouTube on how to do cars, I've not seen many of bikes though. I'm thinking of doing it to my Land Rover.
I vinyl wrapped my F800GS https://picasaweb.google.com/1072947...p?noredirect=1 and whilst that being cheap, it was a lot of work, so PlastiDip seems to be a very easy alternative, especially as you can peel it off the places where you don't want the colour.

F800GS - Grey/Black
KTM SuperDuke R
K1200R - Yellow/Black - Crashed 2008-09-01. I'm an eedjit.

You are correct, no rides yet with these crazy temperatures though looking forward to the summer.

I googled it and lot of youtube videos came up, I actually found one video with the bike being dipped. I took the short route and went up to Lowes and bought 2 cans and done in about 5 hours and 12 bucks. Lowes only had matte black and matte white but I am sure you can order it online in different colors.

Thumbs up

Holy crow I have been living under a rock or something. I dipped my headphone cables once cause they were cracking from wear but I literally dipped them. I never really knew the spray version was available but I have NEVER heard of dipping whole panels and wheels. Your bike looks really great. You have given me inspiration to try that on my own for sure. I really like the fact I can start over or redo something if I don't like the outcome or quality of my spray. Lots of good how to vids out there, too.

Did you buy new K decals? Mine are black cause the bike is silver, gotta figure something out if I go to matte black panels.

Great job and thanks for the pics!!!!!!

I am so happy I saw this post! I am getting a K1200R in yellow next week and I was thinking of changing the colour with PlastiDip.

Looks amazing! Any tips or tricks?
