K12r fuel sensor

Hi all,

Does anyone know, if I fit a fuel sensor strip to the k12r to replace the knackered one and not get it calibrated will the engine adjust itself to read correctly after a few hundred miles or so?
or is there an alternative to fitting a new sensor? like a float?

Cheers

I just went through this on a GT..the answer is you can do the calibration with the 911 or let the dealer do it. It's a download that's received and the bike isn't capable of producing it. The strip must be hooked up to its fitting, dry, and dangling outside the tank. The 911 takes about 10 minutes or so. As for a retrofit..I tried that also ...I had all the K13 parts and physically they fit BUT the strip and float are 2 completely different systems for measurement. The strip connector has 4 wires and the float has 3. I tried jumping wires eliminating wires etc in all combinations...The bikes computer won't accept it.
