Bike Overheating / Electric Fan Replacement / Repair

Brought my 07 k12r sport to the dealer for multiple issues. One being overheating. The tech reported a fault code for the cooling fan and said the fan would not spin with battery power. Ok, so no big deal replace the fan right? Then they told me how much that puppy cost, $380 just for the fan . Are you freaking kidding me? Oh, and they can't find one anywhere, it's out of stock. So here is my real question....

Has anyone repaired the radiator fan for this bike before? Is it possible that it could just need to be rewired or need new bearings or something? Does anyone know of an aftermarket solution? Please let me know.
