Urgent - Plastic piece fallen into oil compartment

Hi everyone,

I was at the last step of doing the oil change. I removed the oil cap to pour in the oil and when I went to put the funnel in, I heard something come off and fall into the oil compartment. I did not see this when I put the oil funnel in, I feel so silly. Please look at the photo - I have no idea how to get this out.

I could stick a wire in there and lift it, but where will that get me? I don't suppose I can lift it out because it's most likely larger than the opening where the oil cap goes.

Please help ASAP thank you.

Ok so I actually did it - took a wire and bent the end to make a hook and I was able to pull it out. I assume it's some sort of filter to prevent anything from going into the compartment (how ironic), so I am just doing without it.

Nice grab, I hate when stuff like that happens. Could have been much worse if you didn't catch it.
