Question k1200R 2006 Front wheel bearing replacement

Hi

I am new to both this site and also this bike I am currently in the process of replacing the front wheel bearings. However After removal I forgot to note which way the spacer tube is located it has a small flange like washer on one side and need to know if this is place to a certain side of the wheel before fitting the other bearing. siting in the riding position on the bike is it located on left or right hand side or if there is something missing from the spacer tube.

Also the front wheel spindle measures 24.84mm dia (25mm) however the bearing inner dia is 25.15mm is this correct or within the correct tolerance of the spindle as I cannot seem to find any information on this

Hey Dave I presume you're talking about Item 6. The wheel bearing is 25 x 47 so i think there's a +/- tolerance of 0.15 mm which would seem acceptable.

Remember, heat the rim to 100°c before removing or installing the bearings. Put a light coat of antisieze on the new bearings before install.

It doesn’t matter if you remove it. I did when I replaced the front wheel bearings on my k12R. I found that the inside end had grooves worn in it from the seal so I replaced it. If it is removed it may affect the operation of the abs if the gap between the sensor and sensor ring isn’t correct. I seated mine right in so that the flange is hard up against the fork leg. This should give the required tolerance of between .008” - .067”. The abs light on the dash will let you know if there are problems.
