Lampf. Connector disintegration.

11/05 K1200r.

lampf.

I get that about every 10Kkm. I carry a spare under the seat. It's a 5 minute task to swap them out.

It happened again today. This time however I noticed the black H7 connector had heat damage on one side. The connector disintegrated when removing the dud H7.

I installed the new H7 and used electrical tape to cover the now exposed connector. That side however didn't "connect" as well as the other side and upon inspection seemed loose internally.

Anyhow, even with a new H7 the lampf continues. I've sourced a new connector with the two wires attached.

I have lights again but the lampf warning stays on. Not flashing, just on.

I've disconnected/reconnected the battery in the hope that might reset stuff so to lose the warning. No luck.

Is this then a matter for a GS911?

Any chance that your little parking light is blown?

Thanks Patrique...spotted! Yup, appears to be.

K1200r parking light replacement. This is in the handbook manual section 8, page 120-121
I'll sort that in the morning.

Using a LED globe sorted the light but not the warning. The oem filament type did though.

I'll try a canbus LED version, see if that's ok.

I replaced the parker with the same as oem. All worked ok as I took off. Next time I looked.... fmd the park light had blown and lampf persists. What might cause persistent blowing of the parker?

Are you sure the filament in the bulb is blown? otherwise i am thinking a bad wire wich causes intermittent problems, a short somewhere, if there is one the zfe will shut the power off to those wires.

Jupp.

Yep, from new and clean to black and the filament separated.

A new globe, some electrical cleaner sprayed into the connector, some careful routing of the loom immediately behind the headlight and so far after a 35 km ride it all works as it should.
👌🤞
