Yes!! The oil flows into the clutch basket when the engine is running It flows between the disengaged disks and steels to wash out all the disk material particles that the friction wears off. The problem with the BMW K 1200 R clutches is the basket isn't drilled correctly for the disk/steel closest the inside hub position. I had mine overhauled by a guy in England fourhunderdfour He fixes that problem, fixes the clutch basket spring problem and does a few other improvements. The clutch on my 07 K1200R is now very quiet, doesn't slip or squawk on take off and will last a lot longer. I also had him fit New Barnette clutches in it. Well worth the money!!
