Hello All:

I would like to ask if you know of procedures and methods to reset ABSII on K12RS bikes. I am in need to reset mine and have been scouring the net to no avail. There is some information on how to reset ABSI <<http://www.largiader.com/abs/absfault.html>> but the connectors they describe do not match the connectors on my bike (98 K12RS). They also describe an ABS button but the K12RS's do not have ABS buttons. The diagnositc port on the K12RS's have two midle pins.

Can anybody shed some light (with pictues of pins and pin locations) on how a reset may be performe on K12RS's. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in Advance to all.

k1200rs

Hi , I am french and , I have been trying for 3 months to reset my ABS on my k1200rs :

all sites are wrong : http://www.largiader.com/abs/absfault.html talks about pin #21 , however , it is not enough to reset it . It has the effect to make one of both lights be fixed .

(I have plug a wire into this pin , connecting , too, connector with 25 pins , but it does
not work )

Could you give me the information if you get it ?

Do I have to reset faults codes before trying a reset , and in this case , how to do ?

Is there another pin to plug to ground ?

In a lot of site , it is said to plug the middle pin from 3-connector placed on the air-box , but , I cannot see where it is on k1200rs ! (only a round connector , is it this one ?)

thank you very much .

Abs 11

I think you will find what you need here and it was the first posting I'd seen where somebody with some electro-mechanical skills had bit the bullet and attempted a service of their ABS hydro modulator.

Locked on faults, usually mean a failed component to find, it's not easy and a lot of $$'s to replace the unit. Take care, the thread isn't a 'how to' for everybody, JW-Spud had a reasonably good idea about what he was getting into.

Thank you very much .
despite my english languages incomprehension, I have understood that I do not get his electronical skills , unfortunatly

I think , that for a K1200rs , there is a electronical problem in conjunction with the unit , that not exists with others model .
Thank you .

Hi ,
do you know where is the relay that Spud is talking about ?

It's behind a thin plastic cover at the front of the unit, where the big fat wires fasten to. These wires and the plug are the first thing you disconnect to remove the ABS unit from the frame. The large wires connected to the relay drive the pump with large amperes (wasn't he French?)

There is also a smaller lower power relay located in the relay box under the tank. I think this might only be concerned with the flashing lights because it's what makes the 'clack clack' sound as the dash lights are flashing. Worth checking though.
