I think we have a river around here somewhere . . . oh yeah, it's that big cement thing over there.

Actually, I did the strangled by suburbia thing. No, thanks. Now we're on the fringes, where you can get into the city if needed, but can get the heck out much quicker. And we've got a world-class highway traversing the local mountains right down the road, as well as PCH for as long as you want to take it. But I'll admit, it does get down into the 50's in the winter.

But I'm also the hot shower and clean bed type. After a long day in the saddle, I just can't see the point of pitching a tent and cooking your own food.

Cool. Post some pics when they're done.

easyman05 I am going to open the season the coming week-end. Will visit the dealership to change the brake fluid and oil after winter sitting. Also got good news - my new airbox arrived and it will be replaced too. And the shock absorber.

kbmwrs I just had another bucking encounter on Sunday so yesterday called San Jose BMW and wrote it all down on an e-mail. Got a reply today saying they will do the airbox on mine next week.

So, LoneStar BMW is slapping a new airbox in on the 16th.
Well some body has to be last!

I was thinking about ridding the mountains of Texas in several weeks. My son lives in Midland and it's only a couple hours drive from his place to some of the most beautiful and desolate vistas in the country.

Does it have a creek? Or maybe a storm drain at least? BTW, that was only offered AFTER you expressed a desire to come through solo during the busy season. And some guys like to camp. If you come up, and want a bed, roof and hot shower. I'll find you one.

And.....California yes.....urban city areas no freakin way. Unless of coarse I need a new set O'skins. Which I will. I'm thinking Death Valley, Joshua Tree, then over to AZ, NM and TX. No tents either. I do enough of that back here each year. At this point in my life 2 wheels = bed and hot shower at the end of the day. (However a GS and a couple months off in the summer with all my gear into the heart of BC would be a different story.)

Grif, Coyotes and armor rats don't bother me, though the latter sometimes stink to high heavens. What freaked me out in Tejas was camping in the Davis mountains. Javelinas. Every night, and then again first thing in the morning a pack of them would go through camp 4 feet away from my tent. Nasty looking tusks on some of them. Big signs about them killing dogs every year.

I'll let you know how it goes as I plan on putting on a few thousand miles. Somewhere warm!
Sheesh, now I feel wimpy. Was going to ride today but it is like 55, over 20 degree drop yesterday. I went through a rain storm for about 5 miles, wind like 30 knots from EAST? Temp was like 80s in Lafayette, then boom 60s coming in. Glad I packed my liners.

We have room in the llama shed for small tent.

New airbox

I am getting my airbox on tomorrow with a Remus Powercone and a Marsee tank bag. I did not get the high idle but didn't want to wait for it to happen so I asked to have it done. I am also going to have them change the final drive oil again too. I am over 9300 miles now and spring has sprung.

grifscoots And I just have spare rooms. That way you won't have to sleep with the armadillos and coyotes.
