Razel Arnold or Standard any time. The one in Standard isn't Snowshoe anymore, but it's either run by the guy that owns Snowshoe, or the guy that owns it is also running Snowshoe. No Anhouser-Bush (yeah, it got butchered) products on tap, and only Bud Light available in bottles.

Sad to hear about Boo Boo. Someday, another, perhaps, but no replacement.

rhhall Thanks for the kind words folks. The trip did help get over the loss. I still miss the little dog, but the pain isn't as sharp as it was last month.

Fletch, Maria and I were going to go to the 49'er, but the Chain Controls and 8" of snow kinda put the kabosh on those plans. I'm planning on Fort Bragg this fall, and its about time for a beer run to Arnold.

Healing and Wheeling

Hey Rich.

Great pics and words from your healing trip to red rocks. Absoluty beautiful area.

The SO and I traveled that route to Golden Co. a few years back and remember it well.

So sorry to hear about BooBoo and I know that you two were close.

Times heals all wounds my friend.

Hope that all is well with you. Hugs to Maria.

Missed your guys at the 49'er ralley. Lots of rain this year. And now lots of smoke....

Take Care

Healing and wheeling at Red Rocks Rendezvous 2008

On Monday, June 16th, I put my wonderful dog, Boo Boo, to sleep after 16 years of companionship. I had to get out of the house, as there are too many reminders of her and pain is fresh.

The Beehive Beemers are having their Red Rocks Rendezvous in Panguitch Utah this weekend, and I can work from the Loveland, Colorado office for the following week. This sets my plan: head to the rally, then work from the Loveland office for a week, then return the following weekend.

Once I got to the rally, I did find out that they are not dog friendly, not that I had a dog with me. There was an issue with a guy that brought his dog in a side-car who was run-off. Don't have the whole story, but the Beehive Beemer's don't seem to want dogs at their rally. I've seen dogs at every rally I've been to so far, sometimes in a sidecar, sometimes in a pet carrier or tank bag. Don't know what these guys have against dogs, but I won't return to their rally. Looks like its up to Oregon and the Chief Joseph rally next year.

Highway 395 southbound, on my way to the "whoop-de-doos" on 120 east.

Wild Mustangs outside of Tonopah. Look closely, there are two horses here:

Wildfire!

Rachel, NV on the Extra-Terrestrial Highway, near Area 51.

Joshua trees and my fuel mileage test...

Heading towards Bryce Canyon.

Arriving at Bryce Canyon National Park.

Arches, natural and...

... man-made.

Ara and Spirit. You may have heard of their adventure on several motorcycle websites. Ara keeps a blog on www.theoasisofmysoul.com, where you can read up on his side of the dog-hating conspiracy! He's an interesting character in this world.

@#^# RV'ers!

Open range means:

Air Force Academy soaring team. I passed them on Saturday just outside of Milford, UT. I pass them again on Sunday, this time, its more serious. I hope no one was hurt. The irony is that this happened just outside Fallon Naval Air Station, home of the US Navy's Fighter Weapons School (aka Top Gun).

Getting my money's worth. I couldn't get BMW of Denver to return my calls for a service appointment, and decided to take a chance on the tire. It's not like BMW of Denver to not return a call, but I guess that Martin, their former service manager, is no longer with them. Looks like the service has dropped a notch. The good news is that I made it home safely.
