was at the dealers the other week and he said a recall has been issued,it is something to do with the front brake lines.it affects about 122000 bikes . he also said that all the parts will be on back order because of the backlog. only the lines and a fluid change,no pad replacement. :wtf: my bike is a may 2008 k1200gt se . last 5 numbers in vin 96547. i read somewhere this is possibly the production number of the bike :dunno: check ya vin number and build date . it affects bikes built between may 06 and may 09, if ya fall in book in honecall
I am in shock. My dealer rang yesterday to let me know about the recall and that they had the parts to do it. Also had a replacement part (warranty) I had mentioned about a month ago so off I go Monday to get it all done.
Most impressive Mr BMW.
Have faith. It will all be good. Will be keeping all fingers and toes crossed though and I refuse to listen to black magic words like software update. LOL
Apparently Mr BMW has decided the caliper end of the lines needs doubling, I am pretty sure it's the pressed metal part on the end of the line. Supposedly it can crack and leak fluid, some sort of fatigue I guess.
I was contacted on Monday of this week and was able to book the bike in for Friday.
I was offered Wednesday but [Insert bragging smiley face here] I was out of town ferrying my new R1200GSA home.
