GillyWI If I were to get a pair of Q2's, and I also bought an iPod (which I don't have right now), would I use what is referred to as a dongle to be able to hear the iPod playing? or do they make bluetooth iPods? The FM the Q2 comes with might be fine, not sure.
And also, if I got 2 iPods and dongles, if that's what I need, could my passenger have hers and I have my own iPods at the same time? i don't think I'd use these for much else, unless I got a bluetooth phone in the future.
I'd assume any other type of media would work, say if I wanted a CD player of some type or an AM/FM walkman (if I wanted to listen to AM for example)

Scala TeamSet

OK, took pity on the Scala folks and let them send another teamset. I noticed this one had a different model/build number.

They finally got it pretty much right. The VOX works reasonably and the volume is much better. Big improvement over the last units. At this point I would highly recommend them.

I've paired them with my BlackBerry and have had several conversations on the Interstate at 70+ ('06 GT, Scorpion 700 full face, CalSci shield in up position). Works great.

Recently ordered an adapter to tie a mp3 player to it. Mono sound in two ears won't be great for hi-fi twisties but listening to NPR will be something to break the monotony on the morning commute. Probably for the best. I have a sneaking suspicion that power chords and 152 hp is either an accident or a speeding ticket waiting to happen...

easyman05 Any experience with Q2? Does it work in/after a long and heavy rain?
How long it operates without wiring to the bike? What is the working distance between the bikes in the bike-to-bike mode? Is it really 500 feet?
Thanks in advance.

TeamSet woes

Well, I just couldn't leave well enough alone. The VOX on the intercom wasn't working and holding the mic open all the time defeated the AGC feature, so I sent them back for repair. The volume levels are too low to not have the AGC working properly.

Cardo replaced them with new. Thanks. The new units won't VOX below 40 mph (Cardo says not enough background noise - my GT is too quiet) and we can't hold the mic open (feature broken). Unthanks.

I inquired about replacing with the new Q2. Dude on the phone indicated they are having problems with those too. I want my money back. Going to look at other brands.

chuckwilmot I have had the solo version of the Scala Rider for a couple of months now, and I think it's great. I have posted several times about my problem of having a county phone and being responsible for answering it 24/7. When I first got the SR, I has a little bummed because I thought I would have to forego wearing my foam earplugs. After about a week, I talked to a motor officer who said I should wear the earplugs anyway, and the speaker would still be audible. He was right. I couldn't be happier with the setup. The earplugs cut out most of the wind roar, but the speaker is still easily heard. Not intuitive, but it works.

TeamSet Eval

Bought the Scala Rider TeamSet a couple weeks ago.

We rode the first weekend and had pretty good results. The intercom performance was OK. I have a Scorpion Exo 700 full face, my wife has a Fulmer 3/4 w/shield. Volume could have been better at times but overall not bad. The VOX didn't work we just used the "always on" feature. I was worried about battery life but they held for over 5 hours of riding.

One thing we noticed is that as the speed/background noise picked up we had to shout before the system picked up our voices. I swapped the foam mic cover pads (there is a heavy and a light) and it got better. I think I'll end up customizing the foam mic covers to thin them a bit on the side facing the mouth.

We liked the ability to chat and comment on stuff we see while riding. I really appreciated the cordless design. I've watched guys get off the bike after a long ride and forget to unplug...

The small size and good styling make the unobtrusive on the helmet. The only negative was a lack of volume at times. I'm guessing they'll fix that in time.

diggitydogg Just put my once-used Scala TeamSet on ebay:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...m=220096279880

Found it distracting. I can see my Zumo clearly enough without having to listen for voice. And I only ride one-up, so the Team part isn't necessary.
