jpalamaro Don't laugh at this Ruben, but another vendor when I queried them about this product pretty much laughed at me and said that only touring people would be interested in this product, implied was that sport riders wouldn't be seen with one.

I ordered two also frm BMW Santa Cruz . . . confession is good for the soul!

As others here have said, they jumped the gun a bit, as they don't actually have them in stock. A nice young lady called me back to tell me that my shipment would be delayed by a few days, and that their first shipment of ten were "in transit" to them, and expected "very soon".

Sorry I hogged more than my share, but I ordered two, one for the wife's bike too :p

What's strange, is that I checked their website Monday for these items, or something similar, and there wasn't anything listed. I'd guess they WAY underestimated the initial demand for these goodies. Their first order probably should have been for fifty, not ten! I gotta give them two thumbs up for honesty though!

SKIZIKS Ordered mine this pm. They knew little when I spoke to them. I had to tell them what the Prez had to say on the subject. Then they took my order.

I noticed their site wasn't a secure site as well, so I opted in ordering it via the phone since I was ordering in a rather unsecured computer environment with a bunch of IT types.

They said they were only getting 10 in and they are going fast (#8 was sold to me). They expect them in within the week and should be shipped out next week.

GMack I just got an e-mail from William Plam (President) at BMW of Santa Cruz. He says they are "In transit" and should be in their hands within the week for shipment out.

They put them out on their website a bit early as there seems to be a large demand for them (wonder why and by whom?). He says if you get the order in now, they should be able to ship by next week.

Looks a lot better than the Schnieder one, and less destructive (i.e. drilling).

The web site said something about the "foot" being new and that it was "okay to order at this time." I am also a little skeptical that this thing will show up any time soon.

Anyway, it looks nice. The foot contains a recess that the bottom of the side stand fits into. Three screws lock the foot in place. They mention using thread lock on the screws. Sounds like a good idea.

I didn't have any of the web site security issues mentioned above....but I did not check to see if the lock symbol was on my browser when I ordered. Gulp.

Now as far as Wunderlich, they have great stuff, just like another big German aftermarket manufacturer Touratech, but also like Touratech, they never have much inventory and it takes FOREVER to get their groovy products.

i am being critical of WUNDERLICH
because they have this BEDROOM deal with BMW Santa Cruz... no other dealer can stock their wares in their stores.... which is stupid as hell

i like to SEE and HOLD before i buy, sometimes
the kind of deal that Wunderlich has with BMW SC would be fine in Belgium... or another small country
but.... the US is HUGE and they ought to let their products be sold in an UNlimited number of BMW (or other) bike shops

the fact that (in 2006) i HAVE to go through BMW SC to buy any of their products in the US.... is so freakin' stupid on their part (they are losing TONS of money doing business THIS way)... it's almost laughable

i have bought from BMW SC before.... and they ARE great
but....
i live 30 mins from my dealer... not in the middle of nowhere... so i do NOT HAVE to depend on the internet to buy stuff for my bike

let other folks STOCK their products... that's all i'm saying
