I bought the new Autocom with the ambient noise sensor that adjusts the volume (and VOX squelch) according to the ambient noise level; but, do any of the "dockable" XM radios have their own volume control- or do most just have line-out level outputs?
I also have the new Autocom.I use a small FM radio on the side of the tankbag for local stations and handy volumn control.Awesome, very powerful, little receiver I got from Aerostich.com.Then when I want XM I just send it to that radio.

Me too. I bought a little Sony AM/FM/TV/Wx radio for $29.95 locally. Since it is only a few unobstructed inches away from the XM, it works great. I just use one of the FM presets on the Sony when I want to pipe it into the Autocom.
The only downside is that most of these 'little' radios use the headphone wires as their antenna. If you have the "Headphone out --> Autocom in" cable all bundled up....your FM radio reception is pretty poor. XM is unaffected.
Beware that the latest firmware for the Inno disables the fm mod unless the unit is docked in the car cradle due to XM's problems with FCC compliance as of late.
The way I control my XM volume is to use Gold-Plated Volume Control Cable. This part
( 42-2559) is made by Radio Shackand is around $ 8.00. You just put it in line with your line out and you are able to control volume.
The Roady has a volume control and does not need an amp or a volume booster. Unless....unless you want to mix you music with your radar and GPS, which I do through my xma3 amp from Tesseract. http://www.tesseractcorp.com/ Three trouble free years from the xma3, which was developed for use on motorcycles by motorcyclist.

I use an iRiver mp3 w/an FM band and a Sirius satellite receiver. I am currently feeding both into my Autocom, but have a lot of trouble adjusting volume on the Sirius. Never thought about feeding the satellite radio signal to the FM band on my MP3. Great idea! Now I can run one volume control for both units. THANKS! :thumb: :thumb:

I also use the Pioneer Inno. It has a convenient set of volume control buttons on the top when in the automobile cradle. I use the earphone out rather than the line out.
