Has anyone tried the Michelin Pilot Power 2CT?

Didn't come up with anything on that one in any searches.

No. PP2CT is meant for sportier bikes and has a softer compound. PR2 is more for touring bikes.

OK Thanks. My sis has a K12S and asked about the PP2CT but I haven't seen it. Then I saw someone mention the Pilot Road 2 but I didn't see it at the tire place I used to buy my tires, just plain old Pilot roads. Is the Pilot Road 2 brand new? I'm lost. It's been too long.

Yes, it's on the market for several weeks now. It also is a 2 compound technology tyre. The GT will need the PR2 up front and the PR2B at the back. I have a set on order. Will probably be mounted next week or the week after that (when I think my BT020's are really toast).

I don't believe the pilot road 2's are available in the US yet.
That would explain why I couldn't find them :) My sis is in Germany, maybe they're a bit ahead of us. She asked me about pricing because she remembered how inexpensive tires were here compared to Germany. She spent a year with me back in 2003.

Anyone considering this tyre might first want to read this post on another forum...............Scary!

Scary indeed, but unless there's been a bunch of blow outs like this I wouldn't go as far as to immediately blame it on the tire model. This could have been a manufacturer's defect rather than a faulty design. Heck it could have been a number of things that have nothing to do with the design/road worthiness of this particular tire model.

How did the BT020's hold up? I used them on my K1200RS. The Metzlers feel kinda mushy.

Personally, I've never owned a set of Bridgestone MC tires I've liked. On my F650 they were horrible and on my KRS the front scalloped so badly by 4500 miles that I could barely hang onto the handlebars at speeds around 40 miles an hour. Just my experience of course, I'm sure some folks like them. I never had any "mushy" feeling from the Z6's on my KRS, but I was very consistent about keeping my tire pressure at 42/40.

Same experience as Wings, they scalloped on my RT, but worse on the GT. I had them off before they were worn out and Z6's installed just to get rid of them.
