I've always been a fan of kawasaki. They certainly have the $$$$$ to make a world beating bike.

This one looks pretty good. A little bit Aprilia RSV4. Way better than the last gen. Better than the S1000RR. Just one guy's opinion...

This is a good looking bike (crazy Kawa green not withstanding :D ). I had a 600r back in the dark ages (read: late 80s) and that bike gave me many a silly grin. And the reviews I've seen on this bike are pretty positive. But did you notice it's also got that funky shapped exhaust? What's up with that? Is that all style or is there some revolutionary engineering that could explain the asthetic offense? :dunno:

the z1000 is pretty odd looking too. Noise regulations in europe?

Who keeps the stock exhaust anyway? :D

Nope.

The official version is that exhaust style, that mimics a dual, stacked, exhaust tube, is supposed to give a sort of family-feeling to old, Z-type, Kawasaki superbikes that had a four-into-four sxhaust.

My version: Kawi designers are smoking funny things. :)

Don't really like the design of both the new Z1000 or this ZX-10R, but I had the chance to ride extensively the first and it's a great bike. I wouldn't swap my K for that, but that's for a bunch of reasons not necessarily applicable to everyone. In the twisties, a well-ridden Z1000 is a very difficult customer to serve.

As for the new 10R, the old one (09/10, '08 ones were different, regardless of what Kawasaki says) was an awesome track tool. Can't wait to test this one... :D :D :D

I don't like the windscreen. It feels like an afterthought. Looks a lot like the BMW concept6 but not as well intergrated.

The boxiness of the front fairing is almost retro cool.

I've heard critism of the tail, but I think it's fine.

I like it. Don't love it. I would probably trade my '04 for it, if I wouldn't get taken to the cleaners on the trade in.

I think that's much better. BTW...did you see the Ninja 1000? Basically a fully faired version of the Z1000.

Yeah I did. Interesting. Can't really pass judgment until I ride it or at least see it in person.

More on the restricted US version of the zx-10r. :( :( :(
