Ouch! But 'some' truth.. side-stand end/side here. Half burned off already.

Hey Pirate, how's it hanging? Off, I've seen. ;)

dragging stuff

Hey Pirate, tracked my KS at Virginia Intl. Raceway this summer with CLASS and couldn't get anything to drag. Guess I may have been able to lean more, not sure, but rear tire chicken strip was showing about an eighth to a quarter inch. I don't know man, I really don't know how much more more I could possibly have been leaning...logged about 300 miles there in 2 days so there were plenty of chances to have drug (dragged?) SOMETHING!

Pridmore School

Never got to the October Pridmore class in Alabama for whatever reasons, but they had some strict rules about brand-new tires, no side mirrors, brake/lights disableed, etc. Noticed that you at least had you mirrors???

Great pix BTW, and thanks for sending!

Track Dogs

Nothing??!! Hmm.. I did some track days this summer with K1200RS owner and good buddy Bill Hider and he was shooting out so many sparks that you could have seen him with your naked eye... from the moon... High pegs and shift lever were toast as well as his brand new Alpinestar boots...

Perhaps your suspention was set up better..

my mirrors were blindfolded with black tape, as it is far more secure not to see what happens behind you on track

in fact, on the K12S, nearly nothing is happening behind :-D

Jerry,

Stuff will drag if the preload is set too low. Heresay is that the ESA was calibrated for a rider weighing 176 lbs., which is what I weigh without gear. But I quickly discovered that if I leave the ESA setting on "single rider, no luggage" while riding aggresively, stuff drags (pegs, shift & brake lever, lower fairing). For technical riding, I simply increased the preload to "single rider with luggage", and the problem was solved. It's nothing like the RS... the S is a kneedragger's banquet with touring comfort.

that's correct on the pre-load settings and that may be the reason nothing dragged. ESA for really spirited stuff, per one of the instructors who's also the service writer at Mortons BMW in VA: I had "sport" setting of course, and "2 up with Luggage" rear setting/load.
