I have ordered an air filter for my 87K75T. Before I attempt most things I chech youtube. I found a man who shows the airfilter removal method....stating that he's never been able to remove the airfilter without completely removing the plenum top because, even with the tank off the plenum with no rise high enough to get the filter out.
The manual states to simpley unclip , lift and slide out filter.
Can anyone please give me their experience on something that should be much simpler than removing the tank, then removing the entire top plenum.

You really have to tell it who is boss. its tight but it will come out. before sliding new one in, grind off the protuding lips that are obvious and it will go in a lot easier.

They are always fun....! Keep the vacuum cleaner handy in case you knock what may be on the top (read bugs and crap) down into the airbox. :thumb:

It will work

K75RT, 1995. I just did my first air filter change, along with the coolant change. I SWORE there was no way that filter was coming out since there was zero movement up on the cover. But the previous posts are correct - just be slightly forceful on the top and take it out at a slight angle. It will slide out and the re-entry for a new filter is actually easier than the removal. Good luck.
