Air filters for K12S ??

The OEM filter is the MAHLE LX 966. You need two filters for the K1200S.
I am seeing some shortage of that filter in some places.... still waiting for a second filter...

For what it is worth I use the Mahle LX966 as they were the factory originals in my K12s. I tried the K&N no problems with those just think they may leak too much dirt. I search for them by brand and model and buy the cheapest I can find though prices are going up. Ebay is your friend here. With the run issues my K12s has shown I found using all original equipment as much as I can produces the best results without breaking the bank. You can go to the Max BMW site and look up the part number for K13s vs K12s to see if they are the same part.

Someone here posted a detailed analysis of the effectiveness of various air filters. A search of just "air Filters" gets about 500 results . If the person sees this, maybe he can repost that test. The results were somewhat surprising.

Fit paper you can't go wrong and it's OEM, never been convinced about re oilable filters as others have said they do leak more dirt in.

Beemerboneyard had the Mahle Lx966 for about 29$ each. A good deal and they are OEM supplier. If you are a BMW MOA member put a note in the comments section with your number and get another 10% off.

I ordered three from beemershop in March and they just got here last week.

I'm going to try Sprint filters in mine. Not sure if anyones ever heard of StupidFast or Brock Davidson...but hes a former pro racer and Brocks Performance tuner. He offers Sprint filters for the K12S so I'm going that route...
