I have a 20098 K1300GT and I'm wondering what the program status is in the ECU. Motoscan ultimate tells me the following info:

1. l-Level Factory = K024-08-08-550

2. l-Level Previous = K024-10-02-500

3. l-Level Actual = K024-10-02-500

Does this indicate that the last update was to the Feb 2010 Map?

Finally took the bike to a dealer in Albuquerque, NM Sandia BMW (Great Experience with the Service Dept) and had all of the outstanding updates added. In the process finally identified the root cause of the madding issue of the bike quitting. It actually threw a code identifying a open fuse to the fuel pump (don't have the code reference from the CAN BUS). New pump on order and hopefully, I'll be able to actually enjoy owning this bike.🤞

the i-level can be a total lie and is not indicative of ANY software versions in any ECU on the bike. If they plug in a dealer tool to check and then edit the parameters for say the alarm... it will show an i-level update when the reality was NO software was updated.

the motoscan tool can drill down and tell you the ECU software part numbers for each module..... you can't just go via i-level

later engine map 08522505 incredible its the same as European bikes !!!
cluster update 08520039 on mine gave self cancelling initiators (of sorts - more safety cut out - than great feature Yamaha got right 40 years ago !)

My alarm was a newer unit so not much point saying its version
I don't know why the ABS never gets updated
For NO good reason the forgot to build in diagnostics for coil pack issues, lazy wasters

Thanks for the reply, I did check the P/N on the ECU (08522505 I-Level K024-18-02-505) and The ZFE with the Motoscan, and all were updated to the latest that you referenced. ZFE also cured the ESA issue of not being able to change suspension load configuration. I could only change between Sport, Normal and Comfort but not 1 or 2 up. The Motoscan was actually how I found the Fuel Pump Code after they weren't able to start the bike after they washed it in preparation of returning it to me. I'm grateful for the information I was able to pick up from the forum and look forward to riding with less worry this season.

DME engine map 08522505 (mine had 07722566, it didn't stall but it was a bit rough and ready down the bottom)

DWA 08544716 - Late part number (it was only fitted in 2017) mates bike that was the same age and had the alarm from new had a different number
ABS 07711978 (this was a new unit fitted in Jan 2017 just before I bought it)

@ S Wharem, if your I-level says that it's very strange, it suggests you got a special update released in the wrong month and the 505 shows it was bug fixing something.

I may have the 505 reference incorrectly stated. May have been 500. I've looked at too many and tried to go by memory. I'll repost the actuall motoscan readout when I get the bike home.

Looked at the receipt from the dealer and the correct reference is K024-18-07-500.
