Sorry for the cross post...

BST is finally shipping the carbon fiber wheels for the K/R/S/GT.

Anyone interested in a group buy from motowheels?

Cost is about $3600 for the wheels.

I'll be letting them know maybe early next week.

Those are sweet! I hope they come with newer tires, though. :D

Rim and spokes are CF. The hub is aluminum.

Weight is about 5.5 pounds each versus 11+ pounds for stock.

Okay, I'll go out on a limb and say I'm not impressed.

To me, they are sort of ugly - and I'm ignoring the price.

I don't know how durable they'd be since I change my own tires and I can get quite brutal using my irons. A chipped carbon fiber wheel would not make my day, nor would I expect a nice CA pot-hole smack as done on the soft ally BMW rims to be as repairable running on the fibers.

Um...yeah....guess they're purdy and all but for $3600 do I get a long legged Swedish Blonde to clean them? :wtf: Yowza!

I'm not interested in the carbon wheels, but I would be interested in a set of factory take-off rims. :)

Don't see the point - there round the same as stock - at speed not going to notice any difference .
They must be for the cafe posers I guess.

Wrong group...

Yeah, if we cared about unsprung weight and handling that much we probably wouldn't have gotten the GT. Also, GT riders tend to be longer distance types, and having a wheel shatter in the middle of Nebraska would be a disaster of epic proportions, whereas bending a rim won't leave you stranded.

Nice looking wheels though. If I had a track bike I'd be drooling. :)

I thought I'd give it a try. :)

List price on motowheels is now $4200!

If we don't get a serious break, I'm out too.

CF is super strong and light, but gives no warning of a failure, BAM, failed. On the track, just load it up and run back to pits, middle of Kansas, SHIT!! McGiver couldn't fix it.
