I may be relocating to Jacksonville, Florida. Are there any interesting rides from northern Florida into Georgia? I'm used to riding the Blue Ridge Parkway most weekends from Roanoke, Virginia. Am I going to be in withdraw from the lack of mountain roads with endless sweepers and curves?

Doc,
30 viewed your post, no responses, I guess the answer to your question is no! You used to sign your posts "Blue Ridge Parkway Junkie", guess now you'll be "I-95 Junkie". Ha Ha. You'll look forward to on/off ramps, dream about cloverleafs. Some of the Florida/Georgia boys have started taking it to the track for fun. Mike and Bill Hider, Tom Abraham, and Jim (DYLJIM) don't know his last name, are all down that way and have gotten together at tracks in Florida and Alabama. They're having a ton of fun. Maybe you'll have to look into some of that for your thrills.
What's making you think of giving up Roanoke for Jacksonville anyway?
How was Wintergreen?

There isn't anything like the BRP down there but there are some nice Hurrican Evacuation routes that are very scenic and offer some spirited riding without a lot of traffic or LEOs. Hwy 34/127 is one I think.

If you go up to Warm Springs/Pine Mountain, ride Hwy 190 through the FDR State Park. It's only about 13 miles long but a great piece of road with some very nice curves.

Hwy 17, run it north or south from J'Ville. Not twisty but scenic. Get over toward Ocala there are some terrain differences and scenic also.

I live in Jacksonville and have to say the pickins are slim. Thats not to say there are no roads that are worth riding. Out of Jacksonville on hiway 13 to Palatka is a nice ride {certainly no Parkway}.
A1A down to Daytona features nice views of the ocean, but doesn't offer much in the way of spirited riding. I too have taken to the track at Jennings a few times and it's a blast. If you relocate down here let me know.
