Anybody replaced seat cover on K1200s/1300s?

I got a second used seat for my K1300s and have an expensive seat cover to put on it. I removed staples and found the cover is is glued on most of the way around the edges. But I'm not sure if it is glued to the seat foam.

The cover maker says if the original seat cover is glued on install the new cover over the existing one. Has anyone replaced a cover and if so did you remove the old cover or just put the new cover over it? I'd like to remove the old cover if possible but don't want to tear up the seat foam.

For you legends that have ordered a Volcano cover from their U.S. eBay store - ALL of the pictures of the covers with the “custom” lettering depicted show “K1200S”. The site specifies there are covers for K1300s, but I cannot figure out at what point in the ordering process you specify K1300 for that lettering. There are also custom foam insert options (on the Italian language Volcano site that I cut-n-pasted into Google Translate) that look nice as well, but again, it’s not obvious if those are even available through their US eBay stores.

What’s the scoop?
Got my seat cover today and debating on weather to try and install or bring it to a shop. I try to do everything so im leaning on giving it a go.
I had the same thoughts as you did and called a local upholstery shop, in Raleigh, NC: Auto Interiors and Top. They had done the replacement of my front seats on a BMW E30 M3 a long time ago and their work was perfect. The two seats including the leather had cost me $1600, 20 years ago. For the motorcycle seat, to insert some staples, they were asking me $540 !!!! Inflation or rip-off or both? Obviously, they did not want to do it.

I am glad I did it myself and I am very happy with the result.

I would think you would need to tell them in a message that it would be for the K1300S. You could ask them about the other products
