I just found out that Autocom is having a half off sale. If anyone is interested the local independent shop in my town is a dealer and ships all over the US of A. I'm not affiliated with them, just trying to throw some business their way so they can stay in business.

I inquired and Chad fired an email back to me re: pricing within about 10 minutes. That's a great deal.

The amount of discount depends on what you want to get. I've been looking at the bike-to-bike set up (without the little blackbox splitter - or whatever it is). Normally it's about $200. It's only 25% off in this sale, but still that's $50 of savings. Better than a stick in the eye.

The expensive kits have even more discounts. Now I have to go home and figure out if I actually need something I can plug a radar detector/gps/cellphone/ipod/and xm radio into. Let me know if you see any sales on radar detector/gps/cellphone...

Thanks for the tip, Jay

Never had one...so I have to ask, what kind of headset comes with them? Are they the cheesy helmet speakers that attach with velcro?

TIA

I didn't expect much in the way of sound quality out of the speakers when I ordered the Active 7 (we are roaring down the hwy at 70mphs with an 1/8 of an inch of fiberglass between us and the wind), so I was extremely impressed w/ the richness of the sound coming out of the velco'd in speakers. Audiophiles might complain, but for the conditions, the sound is great.

Besides, if I want to hear the rasp of the phonograph needle, I'm getting off my bike.

They are probably near the best for helmet speakers. Microphone placement is key...they tell you that in the installation instructions and they "ain't lying". Considering the ambient noice while riding...you won't have a complaint with the helmet speakers (that are velcro mounted). If you want serious sound quality, you need to go with ear monitors and these can be used with the Autocom as well...but require a different helmet lead to plug in the 1/8" connector.
