I just did a 4k miles ride and here are my results:

100-120mph ----> 33mpg (with short blasts to 160mph)
90-100mph -----> 39mpg
70-80 mph ------> 44mpg
65-75mph -------> 49mpg

This was with both side case, tank bag and a large duffell bag fully loaded with camping gear. Pilot Powers inflated to 36psi front adn 42psi rear.

That's great mileage...everyday I see just a handful of bikes commuting to work.

Imagine the hit on big oil if everyone started riding one.

Sportrider,

I have tracked my usage from new and currently have about 8,848 miles. I have really mixed up my riding and this also include break in.

*****************************************

Total fuel consumed (US Gal): 221

Best fuel economy (MPG (US)): 44.46
Worst fuel economy (MPG (US)): 34.74
Total fuel economy (MPG (US)): 39.29

Best range per tank (Miles): 222
Worst range per tank (Miles): 174
Average range (Miles): 196
*****************************************

All of the tank information is a guesstimate off of 5 usable US gallons.

Curious....How did you compute your results? i.e. how were you able to separate them by speed ranges? :confused:

I rode tank-to-tank in those speed ranges...meaning I was by myself and didn't have to stop for breaks as with group riding. Crossing the desert is pretty boring so I just went as fast as I could in a somewhat safe manner.
