Hi guys, I've decided to go with the 2610. Can anyone recommend a reputable seller? I see ebay is full of the refurbs, I really preferr to have a new unit. ty!
Online Garmin dealer is where I got my 276c. Which, by the way, is very close to the 2610, but then, you've already decided...

FS Garmin 2610

I have a Garmin 2610 with 2GB CF that has been used 3/4 times, all inside cars. It comes with the standard accessories. Will sell for $700 plus S&H. Already downloaded City Nav 7.0 and just have to call Garmin to transfer warrranty. If you don't like it then just return it and I'll refund your money, no problems.

Try TVNAM.COM, Darrel and Glenda give great service, are an authorized Garmin dealer, and prices are as good as anywhere, better than all I have seen. They also support the BMW sites with group discounts, etc. I believe.

Another option is GPS City for $630 - I got my 2610 from them 2 years ago because someone here suggested them and they had the best price I could find. I was able to get my company to pay for it, but at the time I bought it I didn't know if they would. I think I received it in two or three days after I ordered it and the shipping was free. You can also get mounts from them if you need one.

Garmin 2610 Dealer Prices

I bought one last August from Amazon.com and paid bit less than $550, including a discount for applying for a VISA card from them. The starting price was less than $600, but I don't recall exactly. It included the CF card and the bean bag mount, but I bought the 2 gig card also. I also got City Navigator version 7 free from Garmin.

The CF card that came with the unit is a 128MB CF. My price for a near new 2610, not refurbished, is; in round numbers $150 for the 2 GB CF which is less than I paid for the CF, and $550 for the unit, which is less that I paid for the unit. You're right about $zero for the software update. My unit comes with the beam bag and all accessories also.

FWIW, I bought a refurb'd unit from GPSDiscount com for $530, and a 2 gig CF card from Newegg for ~ $100. The refurb'd unit comes with the same factory warranty, and the same options for additional warranty, and all the mounts. The saved $$$ will buy gas.......

Yep, you're right, you can't buy technology it keeps coming down in price. I thought I got the great deal on the 2GB CF when I paid $199.99. The 2610 cost $750 and that was a great deal for a new, ie not refurbished unit, they were selling in the $800s. So I have a virtually new unit, paid $950 and trying to sell for $700 and technology is making it hard.
Bob, sorry I didn't make it to the RA Rally but went to the DGR and changed my mind about earplugs and bought a Poly Planar speaker and will use that for the Garmin instead of the earplugs.

Try looking it up on cnet.com. They list the online retailers that offer the product and their current prices. Like with eBay, they also have seller reviews so you get a good idea of how reliable the online retailer is.

low price searches

Warning on price grabber and cnet, they don't list all vendors just advertisers. You can usually find a better price using google's froogle or www.pricewatch.com or even just google. Bought a Camera CNET had at 597 pricegrabber had at 565 and froogle found it for 295 thats a savings.
