Weekdays are best

It gets stupid up there on the weekends, but weekdays are pleasantly empty, so try it then. Also I haven't seen too many rangers at speed traps out in the boonies, but they do enforce the limits at the areas where it drops from 45 to 35, like at Mabry Mill, Peaks of Otter, etc.
And, according to BWS, who lives 5 minutes from the BRP, if you just stick your knee out you can kill those deer no problem.

Blue Ridge and Sky Line Parkway

Tnx Guys,

I havn't been on these Parkways in years and after looking at the on-line maps..I don't see locations for gas..are they well marked while travelling, for calculation reasons??

Gas stations?

Nope, they are not well marked, and in fact sometimes the ones that are there are not open, although usually not in autumn. But if you get low on gas, just hop off and head down the hill to any town near the BRP. You'll hit something right away. Plus you'll get some of the best BRP rides, i.e. the ascents towards and descents from the Parkway.
