Ok K bikers... An atta boy for the first person to identify what it is and where it goes. (Hint, "general" BMW motorcycle knowledge not necessarily a K part).
Found in my box of "I don't really know why I kept those" parts. While looking for the 12 mm hex shank socket I needed to adjust the final drive pivots on my GT (which I never did find by the way).
i'm wracking my brains here and can't think of anywere else I've seen a bolt with an torx head like that, and I've had both K100's and K1200's (and a brief stint on an R80gs, but the less said about that the better).
It looks quite small, or else you've huge hands. So I'mtending towards holding down a cover of some sort.
Give that man a cigar!
Ahh, the good old days. When the drive shaft was actually bolted to the transmission. And when there was SUPPOSED TO BE oil in the shaft tube (and they seemingly lasted for ever).
I think I still have the special offset extension necessary to torque those little buggers too.
