Erik had a online press conference. You can see it on their website under NEWS.

Erik Buell no longer making Buell Motorcycles

Wouldn't surprise me if Harley dumps the V-Rod next. I saw the flood of 2010 H-D new models like they were casting everything they had left into a fish pond. Doesn't sound promising for American manufacturing's future (Saturn = gone. Chrysler > Fiat > Mexico. GM Hummer to China).

Sad really. :(

It's very sad to see American manufacturing go away but who wants a sport bike with a push rod V twin. The Rotax was too little to late. The revolution motor has to be their future. Same way with the Saturns. I have one. They're great cars but they were ugly. The new ones are better but again too little too late. They're many problems with the auto manufacturers but they should have been corrected years ago, not in the middle of a recession

ugly bikes, high costs and minimum performance all lead to failure of the product. why buy a buell when you can buy any Jap bike that costs less, performs better and will run circles around the Buell???? i'm sorry to see any company go out of business because it puts more Ameicans out of work but with that said you have to produce a product that is competitive in price and performance when compared to your competition.

Local HD dealers have been blowing out their Buells. I managed to pick up an 1125R for $6k OTD. It 's going to be my backup street/track bike.

I suspect they may have pulled the pin to early? With the $US falling in value manufacturing in the US should get a real boost!

Just goes to show when you employ big unions ..your going to loose....cheap parts make cheap things.....the cut has to come from somewhere to be able to make a profit...guess where the cuts come from...and it ain't the labor...Just another socialist idea showing its ugly outcome

Don't blow a gasket. Buell is a non-union company!

But, don't dis-spare, BMW workers belong to the one of the world's largest labor unions. You can re-direct your rage at them
