This is a great idea. A website that tracks traffic cameras, hiding places, and LEO sightings. It uses "wisdom of crowds" to locate potential speed traps and alerts to your GPS, smart phone, computer. It seems pretty accurate. You can vote on the accuracy of the traps, too, so if someone puts in a bad location, you can vote it down. Conversely, you can confirm known locations. I used it with my iPhone to report a hiding place last night.

You can report three kinds of traps: photo / red-light cameras, hiding places, and "live sightings." The service will alert you when you approach within a user-specifiable distance to a trap.

www.trapster.com.

I am not affiliated with the site or service.

Here are a few related links that may interest you:

Maryland high school students get back at their enemies and teachers by creating duplicate plates out of paper and then deliberately speeding by traffic cameras:

(In England, the bad guys find a car similar in make and color [colour] to their own car, and then duplicate its license [licence] plate. After that, they can drive and park where they want, amassing huge fines and fees that get sent to the victim. Search for "England plate cloning".)

Red light cameras don't improve safety. Several studies have shown that accident counts actually increase after they are installed:

Cities tamper with yellow light times, cutting them below the minimum recommended duration, in order to increase revenue:
