Seems I misplaced on of my T-handle T-25 Torx drivers from the cheapie ($8) Harbor Freight set. Maybe it’s hidden in the bowels of the bike? Don’t know and I ain’t going to pull it apart looking for it. It probably (hopefully!) will show up somewhere else…someday.

So I see there are some new Ball-Head Torx drivers out now to help access the silly ones around the front cowling of the GT that call for the one BMW hides under the seat.

Like this one:

Specifics here: Wiha ball-head Torx driver with handle

....and here’s one without the handle and L-shaped:

Specifics: Wiha L-shape ball-head Torx driver

Probably will get this one to to replace the Harbor Freight one.

Specifics: Wiha T-handle Torx driver

Fwiw, the Harbor Freight set has the stubby little side Torx driver jutting out from the side of the handle that always seems to stick out and scratch something nearby if not careful.

I am a fan of the Star Pro 6 piece torx pivot (pivotal) set.

I bought mine from ZDMak for $39.95 and would buy from ZDMak again. Fair warning: Others on these forums have complained about ZDMak. Based on my own experience (Fast ship, no problems), I assume that their issues are all in the past.

I looked on eBay, and found the same set for $29.95, which is the best price I've seen. When I first saw them at the local BMW dealer, they wanted $100. On eBay, search for "torx pivot" or "torx pivotal".

Just got my stuff from Wiha. I ordered the 3 T-25 wrenches above.

I must say I was impressed with their packaging (a printed Wiha box within the shipping box, individually wrapped and hand-labeled bags). They are one of those companies that sends you a statement in the U.S. mail as well - which arrived sooner than UPS Ground boxed tools (ahem!).

Better still, the green-handled T-25 Torx above (I got the longer 8" one) fits like a glove one the bike's screws. Almost snug enough to hold a screw on the tip alone. Very little wiggle detected over the stock one hidden under the seat which is loose. The Harbor Freight one also had a bunch of wiggle in the screw heads too.

I also own a Star-Pro set as mentioned above that I picked up at one of the Cycle Gear M/C Shows for about $30. It too is a bit more loose than the Wiha stuff, but not as bad as Harbor Freight's set. The Wiha stuff says "Made in Germany" so maybe there is a "it just fits better" issue?

Their ball-headed Torx drivers work well too. They look more oval than round as with the typical ball-head hex heads. Makes getting to some of those front screws around the radiator a snap too.

Very nice stuff.

This the one I have too. It fits perfectly under the seat as long as you don't have the alarm.
